THE PARTNERS
Sefton Borough Partnership has representation from all three organisational
sectors - public, private, and the voluntary and community sector. The
individuals who sit on the Borough Partnership do so as representatives
of particular organisations or communities of interest.
The membership of Sefton Borough Partnership is drawn from a range of
organisations - there are thirty members in total. Eleven seats have been
identified for representatives of the public sector (including Health,
Fire, and Police services) and Sefton Council has three seats. There are
three seats for local residents, and five seats for members of the voluntary
and community network.
Within Sefton, three communities were identified as being under-represented
within the decision-making processes surrounding the planning, development,
and delivery of services. These are the Black & Racial Minority community,
the Lesbian, Gay & Bisexual community, and the Disability community.
One seat has been identified for each of these communities of interest to
participate in the strategic planning of services in the borough.
Faith communities are also represented, with one seat on the board".
Working in partnership is easier when there is a shared understanding
of the organisational structures that support or constrain it. The following
section provides a brief outline to the structure of some of the major
partners involved in the Borough Partnership and other planning groups.
